Our 3-day Career Coaching, Counselling and Assessment Course has been running continously in it's present form for six years. It was developed as a practical course that shared much of the wisdom found in Jim's Masters Level courses in Vocational Psychology and Career Development.
GRADUATES - THIS COURSE COUNTS 1 10 CREDIT POINT SUBJECT TOWARD a Graduate Certificate in Career Development at ACU - requires successful completion of optional assessments.

The course is taught entirely by Jim Bright to small groups (typically around 10 - 15, maximum around 20). It provides a broad introduction to many of the key concepts and practices in Career Counselling, Career Coaching and Vocational Assessment. Recognition toward CICA endorsed Graduate Certificate in Career Development at ACU for approved students who pass the optional assessment assignments (additional fees apply)
Graduates who successfully pass the optional assessments automatically get 10 credit points (1 complete subject, Career Assessment, Theory And Job Search Advising ECDC603 / EDSS612) towards the Graduate Certificate, Postgraduate Certificate or Masters in Education (Careers Development) offered by ACU (additional fee applies). Students enrolled at other universities have also successfully applied for RPL of 25% towards their PG Cert courses. Others have used the course for a Cert IV in Career Development.
The CICA national standards regard a Graduate Certificate as the minimum qualification for recognition as a Professional Career Development Practitioner.

The course is priced below the level as each ACU PG Cert Unit, but includes over $700 of resources in the price
Full rate $1950 per person,
for three days (9.00am – 4.00pm). Includes extensive pack of books, notes, resources and tests worth in excess of $700, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea
The course is highly interactive and very practical with examples drawn from organisations, schools, rehabilitation, community, universities, TAFES and most other settings relevant to career development.
Graduate attendees can receive automatic credit of 1 subject for the Postgraduate Certificate or Masters in Career Development
offered by ACU and also partly taught by Jim.

About the Presenter Dr Jim Bright holds Australia’s first named Professorial Position in Career Development at ACU, in addition he runs a successful careers practice – Bright and Associates. Jim writes a weekly careers column for the Age and Sydney Morning Herald. He has published more than 10 careers books, over 50 journal articles and more than 450 newspaper articles, reports, tests, and card sorts. He has a PhD in Psychology and is a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society and the Career Development Association of Australia.
