The course provides the basis for applying for 25% Recognised Prior Learning toward the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (Career Development). A graduate certificate in careers will be the minimum entry qualification for those wanting to be recognised as a Professional Career Development Practitioner in Australia within a couple of years. I teach other parts of the PG cert at ACU National and this is offered face to face in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Students love the face to face nature, because they have an opportunity to debate and ask questions and learn from each other. The overall PG cert has been highly rated by students (see CEAV newsletter for an example).

What can I say about the 3-day course? It has been running since 2003 presented by me. Around 600 people have completed the course from a wide range of professional backgrounds including HR, Teaching, Rehabilitation, the military, private practice.

The feedback has been great and it is likely that you know someone who has completed the course.

I think that working with someone who is actively adding to the research literature through scientific publications brings a unique dimension to the training. It means you are working with someone who has considered the issues in depth and is actively and humbly adding to the knowledge that makes it into textbooks around the world – you get to hear parts of this knowledge firsthand!. It follows, that I believe at this level it is important to have a teacher with both demonstrated and verifiable high level academic and professional credentials.

It is also very practical and this reflects the fact that I have been working in Career Development for a very long time with clients aged from 14 yrs to 70 yrs and in most contexts including large banks like Westpac, schools, medico-legal vocational capacity assessments for courts, referrals from psychiatrists who see careers as part of the solution, to individuals in career transition. I do this kind of work every week.

All the tools and books presented in the program are validated and used by me in my practice. You get a lot of resources included in the price – about $600 worth. These include books, workbooks, and tests. The course provides you with a critical framework for evaluating what tools to use in your work.

At the end of the program you will be able to use the tools presented too. I receive no commission, further payment or on-going benefit from you continuing to use them.

These courses tend to fill up rapidly, so although it sounds corny, please do not delay in reserving your place.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
